MEXC, a global cryptocurrency exchange, has intensified its efforts to educate African users on Web3 and cryptocurrency adoption, emphasising the importance of understanding in driving widespread participation in the continent’s growing digital economy.
In a statement on Thursday, the company showcased its commitment at the Africa Blockchain Festival 2025, held from 7 to 9 November in Kigali, Rwanda, an event that gathered over 4,000 innovators, entrepreneurs, investors, and policymakers to explore how blockchain and artificial intelligence can transform Africa’s economy.
Speaking at the festival, MEXC highlighted its mission to empower Africans to navigate crypto markets confidently, tackling both technical challenges and biases that often hinder adoption.
The company’s presence included an interactive booth where hundreds of attendees engaged in workshops, asked questions, and explored trading tools, with a focus on clarity and accessibility rather than complexity.
“At the heart of MEXC’s growth is a clear philosophy: put users first,” said MEXC Chief Operating Officer Tracy Jin. “We see our users as partners, not just traders, which is why we invest heavily in education and hands-on learning to ensure they understand the market and can make informed decisions.”
MEXC’s initiatives extend beyond conferences. Through its MEXC Foundation, the company runs programmes aimed at expanding blockchain literacy across Africa. These include mentorship programmes, university collaborations, and ambassador opportunities designed to equip young Africans with the skills needed to build in the Web3 space.
The festival also offered a platform for MEXC to collaborate with local blockchain projects, developers, and start-ups. Strategic discussions focused on leveraging blockchain technology to address real African challenges in finance, education, and supply chain transparency. By supporting local innovators, MEXC aims to shift Africa from being primarily a consumer of technology to a creator.
MEXC’s approach prioritises a user-first philosophy, combining simple interfaces, low trading fees, and responsive customer support with practical education. Many festival attendees signed up immediately after learning about the platform, with some completing their first trades on the spot, reflecting the company’s ability to build trust through knowledge.
The festival concluded with a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, where MEXC engaged attendees in discussions about leveraging technology for societal progress and inclusion, reinforcing the broader impact of education in shaping Africa’s digital future.
