Morocco’s Ghizlane Chebbak has been crowned the CAF Women’s Player of the Year, beating Nigeria’s Rasheedat Ajibade to the prestigious continental honour at the 2025 CAF Awards held on Wednesday in Rabat, Morocco.
Chebbak, who has been a standout performer for both club and country, impressed voters with her leadership and consistency throughout the year.
She played a crucial role in Morocco’s strong performances on the international stage and continued to shine for her club with a series of commanding displays in midfield.
Nigeria’s Ajibade, who also had an exceptional year with the Super Falcons and PSG, narrowly missed out.
Her key contributions helped Nigeria run to their record 10th WAFCON title.
The award marks another milestone in Chebbak’s career, further cementing her status as one of Africa’s most accomplished female footballers.
