33-year-old Ivorian Musician, Ange Didier Houon, popularly called DJ Arafat has died on Monday after he died of injuries he sustained in a motor bike accident in Abidjan.

He was rushed to a hospital in Abidjan after he had the accident on Sunday, after which he was undergoing treatments and later died on Monday.

His spokesman, Yves Roland Jay Jay told CNN by telephone; “He was involved in an accident in Angre neighborhood and later died in the hospital. He died at 8:10 am this morning.”

“He was Ivory Coast’s best musician.”

The President of Ivory, President Alassane Ouattara offered his condolences to the musicians family and the arts community on Facebook.
President Ouattara wrote; “It is with great sadness that I learned of the premature pasing of Houon Ange Didier, DJ Arafat Youth Icon and ambassador for Ivorian music and culture. I extend my sincere condolences to his mother, his children, his biological and artistic families as well as to all his fans. My prayers are with them during this painful ordeal.”
The Country Defense Minister, Hamed Babayoka also offered his condolences to the deceased family, says he was deeply saddened by the news and described the artist as his son, says his death was a loss to African culture.
Other Celebrities and fans who are also mourning the musician offered their condolences.
He was called the “King of Coupe-Decale, a flamboyant and brash music style which means to cheat someone and run away,” in Ivorian slang, and the dance has become a popular dance in many french-speaking countries in West Africa.
