Reno Omokri, the Media aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan has reacted to the on-going political tussle between former governor Adams Oshiomhole and his political son and friend, governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State.
According to Reno in a tweet, he extended a hand of friendship to Gov. Obaseki to join the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, saying that He, clearly don’t belong in APC and Oshiomhole’s Hypocrisy of fighting against Godfatherism.
Recall that the former governor Adams Oshiomhole and his political son and friend, governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State have a broken relationship, and Adams had made moves to stop Godwin Obaseki from flying the flag of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2020 governorship election in the State.
According to report, the pressure is being mounted by loyalist of the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Adam Oshiomhole. With the battle line appearing drawn, the once united APC in the state is now divided between loyalists of Obaseki and Oshiomhole, fueling speculation of a fragile relationship between the two leaders.
In spite of the popularity of the former labour leader, those who are familiar with the political terrain in Edo State were still left asking one question: where are the Edo political godfathers? But Reno in swift reaction said Oshiomhole almost cried over what he claimed God Fathers did to him during his gubernatorial campaigns in Edo state. Yet, he has become a worse God father to Obaseki than those he complained about.
He stated this yesterday through his official Twitter handle @renoomokri.
Dear Governor Godwin Obaseki,
Now that Adams Oshiomhole is too short to reach the remote control he has for you, permit me to renew my invitation to you to join the @OfficialPDPNig. You clearly don’t belong in @OfficialAPCNg#OshiomholesHypocrisy #FreeLeahSharibu #RenosDarts
