Southwest Peoples Democratic Party members has alleged that the Presidency is planning to fetch Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s replacement from the Southeast as running mate for President Muhammadu Buhari in next year’s election so as to convince the region of its sincerity of ceding power to the zone after him, The Guardian reports.
The party members alleged this after it was reported that the presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar may have delayed declaring his running mate following the above report.
It was earlier reported that south-easterners have been urged to support President Buhari’s re-election bid as he is the only one who can ensure Igbo presidency come 2023.
It was also gathered that President Buhari reassured Nigerians that no region in the country will be ignored under his watch once he is re-elected as Nigeria’s president come 2019.
However the both presidential candidates of the two major political parties are yet to announce their running mates for the upcoming presidential elections.
