The Lagos state All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship campaign rally ended in violence as hoodlums stormed the venue to engage in a supremacy battle.

The rally took place on Tuesday at the Sky Power Ground, Oba Akinjobi Road, Lagos state.

It was gathered that four journalists were shot, and eight persons were stabbed including a staunch supporter of the APC and factional leader of the NURTW in Oshodi area of Lagos, Musiliu Akinsanya popularity called MC Oluomo was stabbed in the neck during the clash.

The four reporters who sustained gunshot injuries include the Group Political Editor of The Nation, Emmanuel Oladesu; a correspondent with New Telegraph, Temitope Ogunbanke; and a cameraman with Ibile Television, Abiodun Yusuf.

It was learnt that hoodlums supporting MC Oluomo and Mustapha Adekunle aka Seigo engaged in a free-for-all fight with some other hoodlums supporting another union leader.

Further reports said Governor Akinwunmi Ambode who was delivering a speech tried to assure the crowd that the situation has been handled by the police.

The APC governorship candidate Sanwo-Olu was unable to deliver his speech, hurriedly he gave a closing remark and was escorted out of the venue with the governor and the Deputy Governor, Idiat Adebule.

People were seen running helter-skelter, some persons were dispossessed of their phones, money and other valuables by pickpockets and other criminals.
