Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Senator Aisha Jummai Alhassan has handed over her resignation letter to President Muhammadu Buhari.

This was confirmed in a post by Buhari’s aide, Bashir Ahmaad, on his Twitter page.

He wrote: “President Muhammadu Buhari has accepted the resignation of Senator Aisha Jummai Alhassan (Mrs) as Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development from the government with immediate effect.”

Alhassan had, in a letter sent to the President dated Saturday, 29 September, 2018, informed of her decision to quit Buhari’s government.

She thanked President Buhari for the opportunity to serve.

According to Daily Post, the former minister left the APC with all local government party leaders as well as some state lawmakers and joined the United Democratic Party,UDP.
