The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign organisation spokesman, Buba Galadima has said that the former president, Goodluck Jonathan caused his own misfortune by not dragging President Muhammadu Buhari to court after the 2015 presidential election result was declared.
According to Galadima, Jonathan would have defeated Buhari in court but he shot himself in the foot.
The PDP spokesman said this during a Sunrise Daily, Channels TV programme.
“He could have successfully triumphed because of what had happened eventually from the rulings of the Supreme Court on Rivers and Akwa Ibom.
“With the benefit of insight, I think Jonathan shot himself on the foot,”
He applauded Atiku’s decision to challenge President Buhari’s victory in court, adding that if Nigeria has just and God fearing justices, the ruling would be in favour of the PDP presidential candidate.
He further condemned military involvement in the polls, saying that the military has no business in appearing during the elections.
“if there are courageous, just and God-fearing Justices in this country, this election will be upturned and Atiku Abubakar will be declared the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Speaking on the possibility of violence breaking out if the court upturns the election in Atiku’s favour, he said, “If the courts do Justice, it doesn’t matter what happens after, after all it is a price that we have to pay”
