Senator representing the Bayelsa East constituency, in Bayelsa State, Ben Murray Bruce has sent a congratulatory message to the winner of the governorship election in Imo state, Emeka Ihedioha.

Ihedioha contested under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) defeating his closest rival, Uche Nwosu, son-in-law to the governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha.

In the message Bruce sent to Ihedioha, he said that the time for building statues has passed and it is time to build people.

Recall that Okorocha had erected several statues in Imo state, including the statue of former South African president, Jacob Zuma.

However, instead of this bringing commendations from people of the state, the governor was berated for spending the state’s money on frivolities.
