Presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party, Donald Duke is about to suffer a set back as his running mate, Junaid Mohammed drops out of the vice presidential race ahead of 2019 general elections.

The former lawmaker who confirmed that he has dropped out as Duke’s running mate on Thursday, also disclosed that he has resigned as the SDP’s deputy national chairman.

Mohammed explained that he made the decision due to ‘many hassles’ in the party.

He said; “It is true. I stepped down a while ago because of the many hassles.”

He said that he has notified both Duke and the party’s national chairman, Chief Olu Falae, about his decision.

There are speculations that Mohammed’s decision will be a set back  for Duke’s presidential campaign after the party announced on Tuesday, December 11 that its campaign will commence next week.
