He added that he only came out of respect for his colleagues and refused the clerk of the panel to put him on oath.
Reacting to this, Senator Tinubu accused Abbo of undermining the committee and failing to listen to the panel, adding that he is trying to dictate to members of the committee modalities and approach to follow in the investigation.
She said, “The Senate carefully selected members of this committee to hear your own side of the story which has gone viral.
“What we are doing here as a legislature is a position taken by the Senate to hear from you and others involved.
“This matter has affected the Senate as an institution and we have been mandated to investigate it.
“You can’t sit there on the other side and dictate the modalities and approach we follow as a committee.
“Do you want us to protect you, or do you want us to defend you, or you want to be on your own?”
“We are trying to protect the Senate and hear from you, but we can also suspend you because of your attitude.”
On hearing suspension, Senator Abbo told the panel that he will not allow them to threaten him with suspension knowing fully well that the matter is court already.
“Dear colleagues, I won’t sit here and allow this committee to threaten me with suspension.
In response to his statement, Tinubu told him that no one has threatened him.
