The Minister of Health, Isaac Adewole has been summoned by the Nigerian Senate to explain why the teaching hospitals in the country are left in poor conditions.

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki disclosed that the health minister will make an appearance before the senate on Tuesday, 21st of May to give essential information on the current state of facilities in the Nigerian teaching hospitals.

Saraki said; “Minister of Health will on Tuesday, 21st of May, brief the Senate on the current state of facilities in Nigeria teaching hospitals.”

This came on the heels of the motion sponsored by Senator David Umar, who decried the poor state of the hospitals, he suggested that Adewole be summoned to brief the senate on why some patients were made to sleep on the bare floor due to lack of space and lack of proper medical equipment needed for their treatment.
