The Federal Government on Monday signed a letter of agreement on an Electrification Roadmap with the German government and Siemens, a German-based company.

The agreement between the Nigerian government and the German government was a product of a meeting President Muhammadu Buhari had with the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel on August 31, 2018.

The breakdown of the agreement is to achieve 7,000 MW by 2021, 11,000 MW by 2023 and overall grid capacity to 25,000 MW PIC: 

This was made known by Bashir Ahmad, Personal Assistant to the President on New Media.

He also tweeted that the event took place at the State House and President Buhari presided over the signing of implementation agreement for the Nigeria Electrification Roadmap (NER) which was aimed at upgrading Nigeria’s Power Transmission & Distribution Infrastructure.
