Mohammed was accused of alleged abuse of office and money laundering by the Director General of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Ishaq Modibbo Kawu.
This was made known by the spokesman of Independent Corrupt Practice and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Rasheedat Okoduwa.
According to him, he said that the former minister is expected to appear in court and explain his role in the misappropriation of N2.5 billion Federal Government Digital Switch-Over (DSO) programme.
It was gathered that a 12-count charge was filed against Kawu, Lucky Omoluwa and Dipo Onifade, the Chairman & Chief Operating Officer of Pinnacle Communications Limited respectively before Justice Folashade Ogunbanjo-Giwa by the ICPC.
The ICPC had alleged that Kawu misled the former Minister into approving government funds to a private company.
Further reports said a witness from ICPC, Osanato Olugbemi disclosed that Lai Mohammed had also admitted that he was misled by Kawu.
Mohammed’s involvement came up after the ICPC discovered during an investigation that a government White Paper that governs the execution of the DSO programme was allegedly flouted by the head of NBC.
The matter was adjourned till July 1, 2019.
