Mohammed Adamu, The Inspector general of police (IGP) has said that despite the fact that there are still isolate cases of insecurity rift in the country, the crime rate in recent times has reduced due to the criminal records in the past few months.
The IGP made the statement on Monday when he was giving his speech at the monthly conference of Commissioner of police.
He further stated that crime rate has reduced overtime due to the improvement of the organized capacity of the Nigeria Police responding to insecurity threats and also handling intelligence-led operations.
The IGP stated; “It is noted that while there are still isolated cases of internal security breaches which often attract publicity and national attention, the crime rate in recent times has been on the decline. This is in contrast to the criminal records over the preceding months.”
