Reno Omokri, former aide to Ex-Goodluck Jonathan has reacted to the report of President Muhammadu Buhari considering to declare the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) also known as Shiites as an illegal organization.

It was earlier reported that the decision to ban the group was taken after the President had an emergency meeting with the security chiefs at the State House on Monday over the violent clash between the Shiites and the Nigerian Police on Monday.

The protest had turned violent, claiming the lives of the Shiites members, a deputy Police Officer and a Channels Television reporter.

Reacting to the move to proscribe the Islamic group, Omokri said President Buhari should instead ban herdsmen who have killed more Nigerians and policemen than Shiites, IPOB and OPC combined.

He stated this through his Twitter handle on Tuesday.

He tweeted; “I hear General @MBuhari wants to BAN Shiites. How many people have Shiites killed? If General Buhari is looking for something to BAN, he should start with HERDSMEN. They have killed more Nigerians, and policemen than Shiites, IPOB and OPC combined.”
