The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC) Benin Zonal Office has arraigned five suspected internet fraudsters at the Federal High Court sitting in Benin City, Edo State on Thursday 3oth, May 2019.
The suspects were arraigned on five separate charges on the verge of collecting money by fraudulent tricks and impersonation.
The offence is punishable under section 14(2) of the cyber crimes prohibition 2015.
The suspects are; Gabriel Akhibge, Isaac Christiana Nkemdirum, Innocent Uyioshoria, Osawaru Samson and Onineh Dickson Imaboyor.
Gabriel Akhibge, Isaac Christiana Nkemdirum, and Innocent Uyioshoria were arraigned before Justice A A. Demi-Ajayi and they pleaded guilty to the charges proposed against them.
Osawaru Samson and Onineh Dickson Imaboyor, the two other suspects were arraigned before Justice M G. Umar, Imaboyor, Imaboyor pleaded guilty to the charge, but Osawaru pleaded not guilty to the charge proposed against him.
In view of the plead of the suspects, the case were adjourned to June 13, 17 and 24 for review of facts and sentencing.
