President Muhammadu Buhari has finally reacted to the violent clash between members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) also known as Shi’ites and the Nigerian Police.
President Buhari on Thursday warned the Shiites members not test the will of the Federal Government to act.
He said the government may be pushed to act in the higher interest of Nigerian citizens.
He stated this in a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Pulicity, Mr Femi Adesina.
This was in reaction to the death of Deputy Commissioner of Police, Usman Umar and the National Youth Service Corps member, Precious Owolabi, who were killed in a the violent protest.
He said; “Let nobody or group doubt or test our will to act in the higher interest of the majority of our citizens,”
The President also sent his condolence to the families of the deceased and the management of Channels TV where the corps member was serving.
He further described the victims as “law-abiding, hard-working and vibrant Nigerians with a promising future.”
