Following the violent protest carried out by the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) on Monday, it was gathered that the Shiites members may be declared an illegal organization soon by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The protest carried out by the Shiites members in Abuja over the continued detention of its leader, El-Zakzaky turned violent, and claimed the lives of some of their members including that of a Deputy Police Officer.

It was also reported yesterday that a Channels Television reporter was hit by a tray bullet during the violent protest.

Premium Times reported that there was an emergency meeting between the President and the security chiefs at the State House on Monday.

The outcome of the meeting was that the IMN will be proscribed and declared an illegal organization in Nigeria.
