An Inspector of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) has allegedly shot dead a Lagos State Traffic Management Authority official (LASTMA) Rotimi Adeyemo ‘m’ at Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos State.

The incident took place at Iyana-Ipaja roundabout, Lagos at 6pm on the 28 of November 2018.


According to report gathered, the LASTMA official was said to have stopped the SARS officer due to traffic.


The SARS officer who was angry at being stopped, stepped down and warned him not to try stopping him again.


While the traffic officer was still exchanging words with the SARS officer, he went inside his car, brought out  a gun and shot the LASTMA officer.


The Nation reported that the alleged killer was first taken to Moshalashi Police Station along Ipaja Road before being transferred to State Command in Ikeja GRA, while the traffic official was rushed to Ifako-Ijaiye General Hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
His remains have been deposited in a mortuary in Yaba, Lagos Mainland.
Meanwhile, as at today, the officer who allegedly shot a LASTMA official was beaten to stupor by irate mob at the scene.
He also died while being rushed to the hospital.
Both corpses have been deposited at Mainland General Hospital morgue, Lagos for autopsy.
The name of the policeman is withheld because his NoK is yet to be notified by NPF.
State CID Panti Yaba, Lagos is investigating the circumstances surrounding this double-murder case.
